This workshop explores how being in valued roles can lead to changed societal perceptions and strengthen the likelihood that people who are marginalised will get the good things of life.
Participation in the workshop helps people to:
Who Should Attend:
This workshop is designed for participants from a range of sectors (disability, aged care, mental health, youth etc). This will include support workers, coordinators, family members, people with disabilities, people with a mental illness and older people receiving services. Participants will be people who are looking for ways of meeting the real needs of marginalised people, resulting in a better lives.

This is an interactive online workshop that mirrors the face-to face version. To aid with this, Participants will ideally agree to the following guidelines:

- Understand social devaluation and its consequences
- Learn strategies to prevent and reduce social devaluation
- Understand what the good things in life are and how to help others to experience them
- Understand the importance of valued social roles
- Develop roles that lead to authentic inclusion in the person’s community
- Share stories of people who have changed their lives by applying the principles they learned from this workshop.
Who Should Attend:
This workshop is designed for participants from a range of sectors (disability, aged care, mental health, youth etc). - September 8, 9, 15 & 16, 2025 (participants must attend all four half-days)
- Please join Zoom meeting at 8:45 AM for an 9:00 AM start. Concludes at 1:15 PM
- Online only via ZOOM

- Standard: $385 plus booking fees
- Concession: $130 plus booking fees

This is an interactive online workshop that mirrors the face-to face version. To aid with this, Participants will ideally agree to the following guidelines:
- Be in a quiet space for the sessions: 1 participant per computer, per room (no group office environments)
- Use a laptop, PC or tablet (phones are not suitable)
- Attend all sessions, and keep their video on
- Complete the 5 min online pre-evaluation and 1.5hr video preparation about ‘marginalisation’ before session 1, and do the 20 min learning activity after session 2 and before session 3.
- Let Values in Action know if they haven’t received the handout pack one week before the start of Session 1
- Have a printed copy of workbook and handout ready for session 1.
PASSING Practicum (5 Day)
- The PASSING Practicum is a 5-day practical SRV Leadership Course that involves visiting two human services.
- Values in Action ran a fantastic 5 Day PASSING Event with three PASSING Teams in May 2024.
