To Values in Action runs Social Role Valorisation (SRV) training and SRV-related events for people who are searching for ideals, values and practical strategies to guide them in their personal and/or work roles.
The presenters are Accredited Trainers in SRV theory and their accreditation is recognised world-wide.

SRV EVENTS
Values in Action offers the following SRV theory events:
Towards a Better Life (TABL)
SRV10 – a leadership event
Both events involve a lecture format with some reflective group work or class discussion. They incorporate a detailed examination of SRV theory, illustrated by real-life examples that include the presentation of a guest speaker or a video of a person sharing their lived experience.
SRV theory events are intended to assist participants to:
PASSING
PASSING is designed for people who have completed an SRV theory event offered by an approved training group and wish to further their understanding of SRV and its application. It is an intensive 5-day course where participants visit two human services organisations and spend time with the people supported by those services, as well as with the staff and managers. Participants then use the PASSING evaluation tool to evaluate each of the services they have visited.
Services visited often include aged care facilities, special schools, day programs, business services, employment services, and accommodation services.
Participants should attend if they have a real desire to better understand the complex ideas behind SRV so as to apply this to real life situations. A willingness to learn through a rigorous process is highly beneficial for application that will assist people get better lives.
Values in Action is extremely grateful to the services that volunteer their agencies for the training of PASSING participants.
PASSING MASTERCLASS
This event is designed for people who have completed PASSING and are interested in deepening their knowledge of SRV and enhancing their skills in applying the PASSING tool to better understand helpful and unhelpful characteristics of human services design.
It includes a formal briefing, a study visit to one human service organisation, interviews and conversations with both the people who receive the service and those who provide the service, and an analysis using the PASSING tool.
The following elements of the course make it a Masterclass::

SRV Perspectives Half Day Events

- Family members, friends, carers and allies
- Advocates
- Workers, including disability support workers and workers in leadership roles
- Board directors or management committee members
SRV EVENTS
Values in Action offers the following SRV theory events:
Towards a Better Life (TABL)
- A 2-day introduction to the Social Role Valorisation framework and the possibilities it creates.
SRV10 – a leadership event
- An expanded and in depth SRV leadership event
Both events involve a lecture format with some reflective group work or class discussion. They incorporate a detailed examination of SRV theory, illustrated by real-life examples that include the presentation of a guest speaker or a video of a person sharing their lived experience.
SRV theory events are intended to assist participants to:
- strengthen, support and confirm their commitment to individuals who experience marginalisation;
- gain a deeper understanding of social devaluation and its consequences;
- learn the basic principles of SRV as a means of addressing those experiences of devaluation;
- become clearer about their personal values in relation to devaluation and personal response to people who are devalued by society.

PASSING is designed for people who have completed an SRV theory event offered by an approved training group and wish to further their understanding of SRV and its application. - Visit to a site with a level of complexity due to either the complex needs of the service recipients or a complex CVA (culturally valued analogue) or complexity in one or more of the SRV principles;
- Work alongside a very experienced team leader
- Work alongside other experienced team members, all of whom have completed PASSING at least once.
